This is pretty funny. Puts Mickey Mantle to shame.

“QUIDDITCH,” CBS NEWS’ EARLY SHOW SWEEP INTO CAMPUS — CBS News’ national morning program, The Early Show, invaded the main quad the morning of March 28 to broadcast live throughout the first-ever Amherst-Middlebury “Quidditch” match. The game, an earthbound version of the sport involving wizards and flying brooms made famous by the author J.K. Rowling in her popular Harry Potter novels, was also covered by the The Boston Globe, The Republican, The Daily Hampshire Gazette (registration required) and CBS 3 Springfield, among others.

On a recent ski trip to Utah, Orph showed his skiing prowess. On the first run of the weekend, the gang decided a quick jaunt down an icy double black diamond was the way to go. After shouting: “No, No, No, No, that’s a big No,” upon seeing his compatriots pass the expert skiier sign, Melvin reluctantly followed. As to be expected, half an hour later, Kevin was found lying on the catwalk, skiis off and hugged to his chest, afraid that if he moved that would be all she wrote. Snyder only had to hike a hundred feet up a 60% slope to “rescue” him as nine-year-olds skiied by in squadron. Unfortunately, no footage of the actual event exists, just some video of the triumphant return back up the mountain.
Melvin spent the rest of the day enjoying a 10 and 2 hand placement and comfortable wedge down the slopes. At one point, Head “accidentally” cut in front of a hard charging Melvin. Melvin expertly dodged Head, and then exploded. Every ski item attached to his body went in a different direction and later his cell phone was found twenty feet down the slope. Again, we have only caught the aftermath, but the story is clear.

Have a better photo for our header? One that is more inclusive of all the cougs/sats? Perhaps one that better sums up who we are? Submit away and the best photo will be chosen by a panel of peers to be the new face of Cougs.
